Manila History Walk

A crash course on the four hundred year history of Manila, starting from its pre-colonial origins, through the Spanish and American Eras, leading into World War 2 and the modern era. With the heritage structures of Intramuros and the Commonwealth buildings as our backdrop, we will paint a picture of the Manila of the past and its relevance to the future.

Tour FAQs

How long will the tour take?

The Manila History Walk usually takes around 3 – 4 hours to complete. This assumes a nice, comfortable walking pace covering around 4.2 kilometers or 9,000 steps.  The tour will incorporate a brief commute from Fort Santiago to Luneta to Rizal Park.

What time does the tour start?

We can do the tour in the morning (9:00am start) or in the afternoon (4:00pm start). Please note that doing the tour in the afternoon might mean we won’t be able to visit the Jose Rizal Execution Grounds as this closes early. You may request a different calltime if needed.

We want to take this tour, but we’re not really great with walking…

Not to worry! We can incorporate more commuting between destinations, but you need to assume a fair amount of walking at any rate. If you want, we can rent a kalesa or van for you, the cost of which will be added to your total tour fee. Prices of these rentals are available upon request.

 

Number of participants:

We require a minimum number of 3 participants per tour. For 1 – 2 participants, you will pay the equivalent of 3 people, or Php 3,600.

 

Cancellation Policy:

Should you need to cancel the tour, we will give you a 100% refund of your payment if you cancel two days before your tour and 50% if you cancel within two days of the tour. We will give no refunds if the tour is cancelled on the day of the reservation. 

Other notes:

Do wear comfortable clothing and shoes to this tour. Please bring rain gear (umbrella, jackets, raincoats, etc) as we will not immediately cancel or postpone the tour due to rain.

Tour fee: Php 1,200 per person (minimum of 3 people)

Inclusive of: Entrance fee to Fort Santiago, transportation fee from Fort Santiago to Rizal Park (if necessary)
